General description
2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazoliumchlorid ist ein farbloser wasserlöslicher Farbstoff. In den Mitochondrien lebender Zellen wird es zu einer wasserunlöslichen dunkelroten Verbindung reduziert (Formazan). 2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazoliumchlorid hilft bei der Unterscheidung zwischen lebensfähigem und infarziertem Gehirngewebe nach einem Schlaganfall.
Application
2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazoliumchlorid wurde zum Anfärben von Herzgewebe zur Bestimmung des Ausmaßes einer akuten Läsion verwendet. Es diente auch zum Anfärben von Hirngewebe, um die Größe des Infarktbereichs zu überprüfen.

The long-term solution stability of this product has not been determined. However, product 17779, a sterile 1% solution, has a shelf life of approximately 3 years.
