Application
E-64d wird bei NB4-Zellen der akuten menschlichen Promyelozytenleukämie und bei Huh-7-Zellen als lysosomaler Inhibitor verwendet. Außerdem dient es in physiologischer Tyrode-Lösung mit freiem Calcium als Proteaseinhibitor für die Perfusion in die isolierten Herzproben.
Biochem/physiol Actions
E-64d ist ein Epoxysuccinyl-Peptid und ein Inhibitor von Cysteinprotease Cathepsin B sowie Kalpain 1 und 2. E-64d kann dank seiner die Protease Cathepsin B hemmenden Funktion potenziell als Arzneimittel für die Behandlung von Schädel-Hirn-Trauma (SHT) und Alzheimer-Krankheit dienen. Es hemmt das Oberflächenantigen von Gametozyten, was eine verringerte Produktion von Oozyten bei Plasmodium falciparum zur Folge hat.

How does the storage temperature relate to shipping conditions?

The storage conditions that a Sigma-Aldrich catalog and label recommend for products are deliberately conservative.
