Established from a NIH Swiss mouse embryo. These cells are sensitive to sarcoma virus focus formation and leukemia virus propogation. Cells have now lost their contact inhibition.

Anwendung

DNA transfection studies

NIH 3T3 Cell Line has been used to:

• study calcium-mediated actin reset (CaAR) in response to physiological changes[1]
• study the effects of activation of the transient receptor potential vanilloid 3 channel (TRPV3) on adipocyte differentiation[2]
• determine the viral titer of the retroviral construct -ST40hTNFα[3]

Nährmedium

DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Calf Serum (CS).

Subkultur-Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-5x10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO₂; 37°C. Do not allow culture to become fully confluent; the use of fetal calf serum is not recommended.
