Er hemmt die T-Zell-Rezeptor-Signaltransduktion über die Bildung eines Cyclosporin A−Cyclophilin Komplexes, der Calcineurin (Protein Phosphatase 2B) inhibiert. Hemmt die durch Interleukin 1?, Lipopolysaccharide und TNF induzierte Stickoxid-Synthese. Kann die Freisetzung von Cytochrom c aus Mitochondrien blockieren.
