General description

Polyacrylamide gels are prepared using acrylamide and bis-acrylamide, where bis-acrylamide is a cross-linking agent. On the other hand, acrylamide is a water soluble monomer which helps in forming a transparent stable insoluble gel.

Application

Pulvermischungen für die Rekonstitution sind exakt vorgemischt, um eine 40%ige (w / v) Stammlösung für die Protein-und Nukleinsäure-Elektrophorese zu ergeben. Die Konzentration basiert auf dem Gesamtgewicht von Acrylamid und Bisacrylamid.

Acrylamide/Bis-acrylamide has been used:

• in the preparation of urea polyacrylamide gel during a modified cross-linking affinity purification protocol (cCLAP)
• in microsatellite genotyping and nonfluorescent elastin (ELN) (GT)n polymorphism genotyping
• in polyacrylamide gel for separation of proteins in SDS-PAGE for western blotting

Preparation Note

To make up 100 ml of A2917, slowly add 63 ml distilled or deionized water to the container and dissolve contents. Do not divide the solid. This makes 100 ml of a 40% stock solution.
For the 1 Liter size, use 630 mL of water.
