Poly-L-lysine hydrobromide is used in the construction of biocompatible nanocapsules and for positively charged NH² group modification of bioactive surfaces in applications such as microarray and micropattern assembly.

Poly-L-Lysin ist ein positiv geladenes Aminosäurepolymer mit etwa einem HBr pro Lysin-Rest. Das Hydrobromid ermöglicht die kristalline, wasserlösliche Form des Poly-L-Lysins. Eine geringe Produktmenge kann in der β-Struktur zu finden sein, da das HBr die Wasserstoffbindung zwischen Aminogruppen und den Carboxylgruppen oder N oder O enthaltenden Gruppen beeinträchtigt.
