Ein zellpermeables, amphiphiles Amino-Steroid, das den intrazellulären Proteinverkehr durch Beeinträchtigung der intrazellulären Biosynthese und des Transports von LDL-Cholesterin verändert. Es wird berichtet, dass es seine Wirkung über die Hemmung der 2,3-Oxidosqualen-Lanosterol-Cyclase-Aktivität ausübt. Hemmt Berichten zufolge auch die Aktivität der Δ⁸-Sterol-Isomerase.
