Beschreibung

General description

Ein auf Hydroxamaten basierender Inhibitor von Matrix-Metalloproteinasen und TACE (TNF-α convertase; ADAM17). Hemmt die aktivierungsabhängige Freisetzung von L-Selektin aus Neutrophilen, Eosinophilen und Lymphozyten sowie die durch Phenylarsinoxid (PAO) induzierte Freisetzung in Neutrophilen. Es blockiert auch die Freisetzung verschiedener Zelloberflächenproteine wie pro-TGF-α, IL-6-Rezeptor α-Untereinheit und β-Amyloid-Vorläuferprotein. Es wird berichtet, dass es die Freisetzung von TNF-α hemmt und einen Schutz gegen Aspirin-induzierte Magenschleimhautverletzungen bietet. Wirkt als schwacher Inhibitor des Angiotensin-Converting-Enzyms (IC₅₀ = 18 µM).
