Beschreibung

General description

Dies ist eine inaktive Form, die je nach Anwendung für die Verwendung mit isolierten Zellen aktiviert werden muss. Zur Aktivierung mit NaOH in Ethanol behandeln und anschließend auf pH 7,2 neutralisieren.

Ein Antibiotikum, das als potenter Inhibitor der HMG-CoA-Reduktase wirkt und dadurch die Ras-Farnesylierung unterdrückt. Inhibitor der Myoblastenfusion. Verursacht den Arrest des Zellzyklus in der späten G₁-Phase. Kann das knochenmorphogenetische Protein 2 (BMP-2) induzieren. Dieses Produkt muss für die Verwendung in Zellkulturen und zellfreien Assay-Systemen aktiviert werden. Zur Aktivierung mit Ethanollösung mit 1 N NaOH behandeln und anschließend mit 1 N HCl auf pH 7,2 neutralisieren (siehe Keyomarsi, K. et al. 1991).
