Although some ELISAs utilize casein (C7078) or non-fat milk (1153630500), this application has not been tested and is not included in the Certificate of Analysis specifications for these 2 products. There are references in protocols that cite the use of non-fat dry milk for blocking in ELISA, but it is up to the end-user to determine cross-reactivity within their assay.
We recommend as blocking reagent for ELISA, BSA at 1-5% concentration. The following products can be considered: 126593, A7030, A3059, 810531 or our Probumin BSAs for Diagnostic Kit Manufacturers.
