General description

Native lactate dehydrogenase from porcine heart. A tetrameric enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of pyruvate to lactate. The overall equilibrium of this reaction favors lactate formation. Has an optimal pH of 7.0 and a pI of 4.6. Note: 1KU = 1000 units.
