General description

A multi-component mix containing Spice cannabinoids JWH-250; JWH-200; HU-211; (±)-CP 47,497; and (±)-CP 47,497 C8 homologue. On March 1, 2011, the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) used its emergency power to classify five synthetic cannabinoids in Schedule I, the most restrictive category under the Controlled Substances Act. The five synthetic cannabinoids under this one year ban include JWH-018, JWH-073, JWH-200, CP-47,497 and its C8 homologue.

Application

  • An Internet Snapshot Survey Assessing the sale of Synthetic Cannabinoid Receptor Agonists for use with Electronic Vaping Devices.: This research evaluates the distribution and accessibility of synthetic cannabinoids, such as those in the Spice Cannabinoid Mix, through online platforms, highlighting the need for robust analytical standards in monitoring and regulation (Gould et al., 2024).
  • ADB-HEXINACA-a novel synthetic cannabinoid with a hexyl substituent: phase I metabolism in authentic urine samples, a case report and prevalence on the German market.: Demonstrates the application of Spice Cannabinoid Mix in forensic and clinical toxicology to identify and quantify novel synthetic cannabinoids in biological samples, enhancing drug monitoring and safety analyses (Giorgetti et al., 2024).
  • New synthetic cannabinoids and the potential for cardiac arrhythmia risk.: Focuses on the cardiovascular effects of synthetic cannabinoids from mixes like Spice, using bioactive compound libraries to study cardiac risks associated with these substances, informing safer therapeutic practices (Hancox et al., 2023).
  • Potential of dietary hemp and cannabinoids to modulate immune response to enhance health and performance in animals: opportunities and challenges.: Explores the veterinary applications of cannabinoid mixtures, assessing their immunomodulatory properties to potentially improve animal health and performance, supporting advancements in veterinary pharmacology (Hassan et al., 2023).
  • Subtle Structural Modification of a Synthetic Cannabinoid Receptor Agonist Drastically Increases its Efficacy at the CB1 Receptor.: Investigates the biochemical impact of minor structural changes in synthetic cannabinoids, like those in the Spice Cannabinoid Mix, on receptor binding and efficacy, contributing to the development of more effective synthetic marijuana products (Yano et al., 2023).
