The antibody MEM-M6/6 recognizes Ig domain D2 (membrane proximal) of CD147 (Neurothelin), a 50-60 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein primarily expressed on all leukocytes, red blood cells, platelets and endothelial cells; it is not expressed by resting lymphocytes.
Immunogen
Protein A-CR purified soluble recombinant form of CD147, CD147Rg, which consists of the cDNA coding for the hinge region, CH2-and CH3 domain of human IgG1 (CD147Rg is secreted by transfectants as a dimmer)
Application
The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis. Suggested working dilution for Flow Cytometry is 4-10 μg/mL of sample. Indicated dilution is recommended starting point for use of this product. Working concentrations should be determined by the investigator.

Recently, basigin (BSG), which carries OK antigens on red blood cells (RBCs), was reported to be the receptor of the Plasmodium falciparum reticulocyte-binding protein homolog 5 (PfRh5). BSG-PfRh5 is the only essential receptor-ligand pair in P. falciparum invasion that is known
The Journal of infectious diseases, 212(8), 1288-1297 (2015-04-04)
Plasmodium falciparum invades human erythrocytes by using an array of ligands that interact with several receptors, including sialic acid (SA), complement receptor 1 (CR1), and basigin. We hypothesized that in malaria-endemic areas, parasites vary invasion pathways under immune pressure. Therefore
