Biochem/physiol Actions

MS023 is a potent and selective chemical probe for Type I protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs). MS023 is a potent inihbitor of PRMTs 1,3,4,6,and 8 (IC50 = 30, 119, 83, 8, and 8 nM, respectively), which are responsible for asymmetric dimethylation of arginine residues. MS023 is active in cells. For full characterization details, please visit the MS023 probe summary on the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) website.

Quantitative information about the levels and dynamics of post-translational modifications (PTMs) is critical for an understanding of cellular functions. Protein arginine methylation (ArgMet) is an important subclass of PTMs and is involved in a plethora of (patho)physiological processes. However, because

Biomolecular condensation is a widespread mechanism of cellular compartmentalization. Because the "survival of motor neuron protein" (SMN) is implicated in the formation of three different membraneless organelles (MLOs), we hypothesized that SMN promotes condensation. Unexpectedly, we found that SMN's globular

Vitamin B6 is a vital micronutrient across cell types and tissues, and dysregulated B6 levels contribute to human disease. Despite its importance, how B6 vitamer levels are regulated is not well understood. Here, we provide evidence that B6 dynamics are
