General description

MO25 is a 40 kDa scaffolding protein that interacts with STRADα and LKB1 to regulate tumor suppression. MO25 also facilitates the activation and cytoplasmic localization of LKB1 . Anti-MO25 (C-terminus) antibody detects human MO25 (approx. 40 kDa). The product is also predicted to react with rat and mouse MO25. Staining of the MO25 band in immunoblotting is specifically inhibited by the immunizing peptide.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 323-341 located near the C-terminus of human MO25. This sequence is identical in chicken, dog, and bovine MO25 and highly conserved in rat and mouse MO25 (2 amino acid substitutions).

Application

Anti-MO25 (C-terminus) antibody is suitable for use in western blot (0.5-1 μg/mL using HEK-293T cells expressing human MO25 and in PC12 cell lysates).

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, and 15 mM sodium azide.

The LKB1 tumor suppressor is a protein kinase that controls the activity of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK). LKB1 activity is regulated by the pseudokinase STRADalpha and the scaffolding protein MO25alpha through an unknown, phosphorylation-independent, mechanism. We describe the structure

Mutations in the LKB1 protein kinase result in the inherited Peutz Jeghers cancer syndrome. LKB1 has been implicated in regulating cell proliferation and polarity although little is known about how this enzyme is regulated. We recently showed that LKB1 is
