Feline leukemia virus subgroup C receptor 1 (FLVCR1) is a member of cell surface receptors that bind feline leukemia virus, subgroup C.
Monoclonal Anti-FLVCR1 (mouse IgG2a isotype) is derived from the hybridoma FL-58 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human FLVCR1 conjugated to KLH.
Specificity
Monoclonal Anti-FLVCR1 recognizes human, monkey, mouse and rat FLVCR1 (~72 kDa).
Immunogen
peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human FLVCR1, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence is identical in monkey and bovine FLVCR1.
Application
Anti-FLVCR1 antibody may be used for immunoblotting at a working concentration of 2.0-4.0 μg/ml using Raji cell extracts. The antibody is suitable for immunofluorescence at a recommended concentration of 2.5-5.0 μg/ml using A549 cells.
Monoclonal Anti-FLVCR1 antibody produced in mouse has been used in immunoblotting and immunofluorescence.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Human feline leukemia virus subgroup C receptor 1 (FLVCR1) is required to transport cytoplasmic heme and maintain intracellular heme concentration, that protects the developing erythroid cells from heme toxicity. Disruption of FLVCR1 is implicated in fatal congenital anemia called Diamond-Blackfan anemia, degeneration of neurons in retinitis pigmentosa and posterior column ataxia via dysregulation of heme homeostasis). Knockdown of FLVCR is associated with defective erythropoiesis and disturbed systemic iron homeostasis in mice. Feline leukemia viruses (FeLVs) are pathogenic retroviruses of cats that disrupt the function of host receptor and causes fatal anemia.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
