Application

Minoxidil has been used as test drug:
  • in dermal papilla spheroid model, to study the effect of hair regeneration
  • administered orally to experimental rats, in the approach to identify biomarkers of drug induced vascular injury[1]
  • administered via oral gavage to nonhuman primate model in order to study its effect on tilt responses

Biochem/physiol Actions

Activates ATP-activated K+ channels; vasodilator; slow or stop hair loss and promote hair regrowth.
Minoxidil is originally used to treat hypertension, which also induces hypertrichosis. It is considered as a potent drug for treating androgenetic alopecia.[2]

    1. Each batch release of this product has been tested for solubility at 50 mg/mL in ethanol. Turbidity observations are recorded as "clear to slightly hazy," and specific results for each batch are indicated in the Certificate of Analysis.

  2. Hi، Is the unit of measurement correctly written in milligrams? Shouldn't it have been written gram?

    1. Yes, the milligram quantities listed for the package sizes is correct. The packaged product is not available in gram quantities.
