General description

Diethanolamine (DEA) is an organic chemical compound, which comprises of a secondary amine and a dialcohol. It mainly acts as a weak base. DEA can be used in preparing long-chain fatty acids, namely diethanolamides and diethanolamine salts, which find application in liquid laundry and dishwashing detergents, cosmetics, shampoos, hair conditioners, textile processing, and also in pharmaceutical industries.

Application

Diethanolamine may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in air samples, aqueous solutions, and shampoo products by various chromatographic techniques.
It was used as reference standard for determination of DEA in air using high-performance liquid chromatograph equipped with a fluorescence detector or photo-diode array detector.
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
