Neurexins are heavily glycosylated and processed neuronal transmembrane cell surface proteins likely involved in cell recognition and adhesion. (Missler, M., et al. (1998) 14(1):20-26) Antibody Anti-neurexin 3 alpha (ABN96) was made against a peptide immunogen corresponding to a stretch of amino acids in the extracellular domain of human neurexin 3 alpha (Uniprot Q9Y4C0). Although the theoretical full length of Neurexin 1alpha is 180 kDa, the protein detected in human brain lysates may show a band around 180 kDa and additional bands around 40-55 kDa as a possible result of the posttranslational processing previously reported.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Neurexin-3.
Application
Detect Neurexin3 using this Anti-Neurexin3 Antibody validated for use in WB, IH.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected Neurexin-3 in normal mouse brain tissue.

Quality
Evaluated by Western Blot in PC12 cell lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected Neurexin-3 in 10 µg of PC12 cell lysate.
Target description
~180 kDa observed. UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Q9Y4C0 (NRX3A_HUMAN) states 2 isoforms due to alternative promoter usage and alternative splicing at a molecular weight of ~181 kDa and ~117 kDa, with several beta isoforms at a molecular weight 70 kDa, 51 kDa, 47 kDa, and 44 kDa Additional bands may also be observed around 40-55 kDa as a possible result of the posttranslational processing.
Physical form
Affinity purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.
Storage and Stability
Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.
Analysis Note
Control PC12 cell lysate.
