應用

Strychnine hydrochloride has been used as a glycine receptor antagonist in the retina for biophysiological functions.[1][2] It has also been used to block glutamatergic, GABAergic and glycinergic receptors and gap junctions.[3]

生化/生理作用

惊厥剂;与 NMDA 受体无关的甘氨酸受体拮抗剂。
Strychnine is a potent convulsant,[4] which is extracted from Strychnos nux vomica seeds.[5] At high doses, the compound causes convulsions and ultimately death due to respiratory paralysis. Strychnine acts as a respiratory, circulatory and digestive stimulant.[6]
