Inhibin β-Subunit (also called as MSMB, microseminoprotein-β) is a cysteine-rich and nonglycosylated protein. It is one of the major components of semen.[1]

生化／生理作用

Inhibin β-Subunit (also called as MSMB, microseminoprotein-β) is upregulated in ovarian cancer and is correlated with the levels of prostasin.[2] Low expression of MSMB is linked with increased risk of prostate cancer.[1] It is involved in the inhibition of FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), thereby abolishing growth-enhancing activity of FSH in prostate cancer.[3]
