一般說明

Microfibrillar-associated protein 3-like (MFAP3L) is a protein kinase and a microfibril-associated glycoprotein. It is a 409 amino acid protein expressed in human testis and prostate gland. MFAP3L has a transmembrane region and several N-glycosylation sites. The gene encoding the protein is localized on chromosome 4q32.3 and has two exons.

應用

生化／生理作用

Microfibrillar-associated protein 3-like (MFAP3L) takes part in the signaling of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). When EGFR translocates to the nucleus after activation, MFAP3L gets phosphorylated. This activated form of MFAP3L then phosphorylates extracellular signal-regulated kinase 2 (ERK2). MFAP3L has been associated with metastasis in colorectal cancer.
