Ammonium dichromate is a hexavalent chromium compound with a high oxidation potential.[1] Hexavalent chromium is potent carcinogen and an environmental pollutant.[2]

應用

Ammonium dichromate may be used in the following processes:

• Oxidation of alcohols in the presence of Mg(HSO₄)₂ (magnesium hydrogen sulfate) and wet SiO₂ (silicon dixide).[3]
• Preparation of Cr₂O₃/Al₂O₃ (chromium (III) oxide/aluminium oxide) catalysts.[4]
• Oxidative coupling of thiols.[5]
• Preparation of mesoporous molecular sieves.[6]
• Preparation of polypyrrole (PPy).[7]
• Preparation of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) interconnect.[8]
