再生或活化:
饱和分子筛可以通过再生恢复到原来的容量,其原理涉及改变吸附剂周围的条件,以对应非常低的平衡容量。一般来说,吸附和再生的平衡能力相差越大,再生越迅速和完全。
筛子可以通过以下四种方式之一再生:
1. 热再活化 – 二氧化硅的最高再生温度为 300°C。
2. 压力再活化
3. 在常温常压下使适当的液体通过凝胶床。
4. 使液体中的高浓度分子通过床层而置换吸附剂。
分子筛是由二氧化硅和氧化铝四面体构成三维互连网络的结晶金属铝硅酸盐。通过加热从这个网络中去除天然的水合作用,产生均匀的空腔,选择性地吸附特定大小的分子。3A 型是用钾阳离子代替 4A 结构固有的钠离子,将有效孔径减小到 ~3Å,不包括直径 >3Å 的分子(例如:乙烷)。8~12 目类型常见于液相应用。分子筛在极性和非极性介质中被认为是一种通用的干燥剂。

在不同的温度范围(25-80℃ 和-69 至 17℃ 的水露点)内,研究了分子筛吸附水蒸汽的动力学。[1]
选择分子筛:
1. 一个分子对另一个分子的优先吸附取决于孔径和网孔大小。
2. 硅胶吸附特定化合物的动态能力由内表区域决定;表区域越大,动态容量越大。
3. 吸附速率和分离度主要取决于粒径和柱填料;细小的粒度能提供最佳的清晰度。
4. 液体最易从溶解度最小的溶剂中吸附;溶剂是很好的解吸剂。
5. 强极性液体易吸附。具有羟基或含氧的化合物被强烈吸附。
6. 对于同类化合物,分子量越高,选择性越高。
7. 分子量相近的烃类,吸附能力随双键编号的增加而增加。

應用

分子筛,3Å 可用于以下工艺:
  • 不饱和烃流的商业脱水,包括裂解气、丙烯、丁二烯、乙炔。
  • 干燥极性液体,如甲醇和乙醇。
  • N2/H2 流动中的氨和水等分子的吸附。

  1. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.   2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  3. Are they activated and ready to use as they arrive?

    1. The molecular sieves are not activated. The product will require activation (regeneration) prior to use. Instructions for activation may be accessed at following link:

  4. Hello, I am wondering what the efficacy of these molecular sieves is for removing trace water content from n-butanol?

    1. These 3A sieves have a capacity of 15-24% (meaning they can adsorb 15-24 grams of water per 100 grams of resin used). Please see the following document for more information:
