Hi-Flow Plus membranes are designed and optimised for use in rapid diagnostic lateral flow tests that require superior consistency and performance. Lateral flow tests faciliate quick and convenient detection / quantification of analytes such as antibodies and antigens present in biological samples, including blood, saliva, and urine. Hi-Flow™ Plus membranes are ideally suited for such applications. Available in a variety of capillary flow times and backing options, choosing Hi-Flow™ Plus membranes can improve assay performance and offer flexibility to meet a wide range of assay design requirements.   • Hi-Flow Plus membrane is a critical raw material suitable for use in a broad range of Lateral Flow test applications, including Infectious Disease testing (COVID-19, HIV, Influenza, Malaria, STDs etc.), as well as in women’s health, biomarker detection, drugs of abuse testing, drug development, environmental testing, agricultural applications, food safety, product quality testing and animal health.

  1. Are these backing card used for assembly of all pads ?

    1. Backed membranes cast onto a nonporous, polyester film offer two advantages. First, these membranes are easier to handle. The film provides a high level of mechanical strength. Secondly, the film acts as a barrier to chemical contamination from adhesives that are used to mount the membrane on cards during test strip manufacture.

      The most common backings are 2-mil and 4-mil polyester films. Membranes on these backings perform similarly. Please be aware that film thickness is dictated by constraints of the test strip manufacturing process and the tolerances of the intended space in the housing. Unbacked membranes, in comparison, are extremely fragile and can be very difficult to work with during test strip assembly.
