N-C24:1-desoxymethylsphinganine Commonly referred to as 1-desoxymethyldihydroceramide (1-desoxyMeDHCer), is the N-acylated form of 1-desoxymethylsphinganine,[1] a potent inhibitor of sphingolipid metabolism. 1-deoxysphinganine (1-deoxySa) with N-acyl groups are referred as 1-deoxydihydroceramides and can have 16, 20 and 24 carbon chain.[2]
