Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a glycerophospholipid present abundantly in eukaryotes.[1] It comprises 40-50% of the total phospholipid content in the cell membrane.[2] PC is synthesized by the Kennedy pathway.[1]

應用

Heart PC has been used in the preparation of phospholipid reference mixture.[3]

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) in the liver is responsible for the production of very low density lipoproteins (VLDL).[2] It is an important source for the formation of lipid mediators and secondary messengers.[1]
