Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a prime metabolite in eukaryotes glycerolipid metabolism,[1] mainly synthesized in liver.[2] It is a major element of lipoproteins, bile and lung surfactant.[2] NBD PC contains 7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl (NBD) covalently attached to phosphatidylcholine.[3]

應用

18:1-06:0 NBD PC is suitable for:
  • the generation giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) subjected to fluorescence microscopy[4]
  • labelling lipid bilayers formed by vesicle fusion in order to study the lipid distribution by fluorescence microscopy[5]
  • the preparation of phospholipid-coated beads[6]

7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl phosphatidylcholine (NBD PC) functions as a fluorescent analog in biological membranes in order to study the cellular processes.[3]
