12-NBD Stearate has been used in the fluorescent labeling of omega-3 fatty acid in biomaterial films[3] and as a ligand for fatty acid binding protein 5 (FABP5) in competitive binding based high throughput fluorescence displacement assay.[4] It may be used a ligand fluorescence displacement assay of fatty-acid binding protein 5 (FABP5).[5]
生化/生理作用
12-NBD Stearate incorporated in lipid droplets[1] and is used majorly in fluorescence displacement binding studies of fatty-acid binding proteins.[6] The sterol carrier protein-2 (SCP-2) 15-kDa isoform favours NBD Stearate transport.[1] The uptake of NBD Stearate is regulated by fatty acid binding protein (FABP) expression regulates uptake[7] and inhibited by filipin III.[2]
