應用

Gelatin has received significant attention in the biomedical field due to its inherent bioactivity. Functionalized gelatin can be cross-linked with the formation of covalent bonds into highly crosslinked structures, such as hydrogels. Recent literature suggests that radical-mediated polymerized hydrogels may not be ideal for cell and protein encapsulation due to radical-mediated damage, hindered molecular transport, or altered cell-cell/cell-material interactions. Thiol-modified gelatin can be used to form hydrogels with multifunctional norbornene or allyl crosslinkers via thiol-ene click or Michael-addition reactions.
To improve solubility in water, heat to 40°C and stir for 10-15 minutes.

注意

Material should be handled under nitrogen - air/oxygen & moisture are to be avoided.

Swelling of hydrogels leads to a decrease in mechanical performance coupled with complications in solute diffusion. In addition, hydrogel swelling affects patient safety in biomedical applications such as compression of tissue and fluid blockage. A conventional strategy for suppressing swelling

Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
  1. Could I ask what gelatin is used for the modification? Is it typ A or type B, and is the origin bovine or porcin?

    1 answer
    1. This product is prepared from a porcine Type A gelatin.

      Helpful?

  2. What is the expected bloom number for product 904643?

    1 answer
    1. It is bloom 300.

      Helpful?

  3. How should it be dissolved? I tried to make a 50g/L PBS solution and left it in an incubator at 40 degrees overnight, but it did not dissolve.

    1 answer
    1. Heat the gelatin solution to at least 50 °C while stirring continuously. The gelatin should dissolve to form a slightly hazy solution with no particulates.
