PbI2 is a well know salt and it finds applications in high energy photon detectors.[1] Recently, lead iodide has received attention due to its application in synthesis of perovskite based dye sensitized solar cells.[2] The solution of PbI2 in DMF is quite commonly used in synthesis of perovskite based Organometallic thin films.
