  3. How can Silver sulfadiazine, Product 481181, be dissolved?

    1. Although Sigma-Aldrich does not test the solubility of the silver salt, per the chemicals encyclopedia published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (13th ed.), sulfadiazine is sparingly soluble in water (13mg/100mL at pH 5.5 and 200mg/100mL at pH 7.5), alcohol, and acetone and freely soluble in dilute mineral acids , solutions of potassium and sodium hydroxide, and aqueous ammonium hydroxide.
