- for collection of estuary water sediment, in an experimental study done to assay the anammox reaction occurring in estuary sediments.
- to sub-sample, 15N-N2 and N2O sample gas in head-space, during measurement of annamox and denitrification in intact sediment cores.
- with combination of PCC, which is basically a cell homogenizer, during the isolation of mitochondria, in an experimental investigation done to study the progression of human diseases.
- for the introduction of the sample in to the GASIS (gas sampling and injection system) inlet, during the compound-specific δD and δ13C gaseous mixture analysis by mass spectrometry.

The picture of the syringe is attached. The I.D. of the syringe is not disclosed. But there are also alternative products like 29638-U and 509388 with needle I.D. values of 0.37mm and 0.32 mm, respectively.
