Eukaryotic peptide chain release factor GTP-binding subunit ERF3A (UniProt: P15170; also known as Eukaryotic peptide chain release factor subunit 3a, eRF3a, G1 to S phase transition protein 1 homolog) is encoded by the GSPT1 (also known as ERF3A) gene (Gene ID: 2935) in human. GSPT1 is a ubiquitously distributed protein that serves as a translation termination factor. It is shown to be essential for cell survival and it interacts with multiple factors involved in key cellular processes including regulation of cell cycle progression. It is a GTPase component of the eRF1-eRF3-GTP ternary complex that mediates translation termination in response to the termination codons UAA, UAG and UGA. This ternary complex binds to a stop codon in the ribosomal A-site. GTP hydrolysis by GSPT1 is reported to induce a conformational change that leads to its dissociation, permitting eRF1 to accommodate fully in the A-site. Degradation of GSPT1 results in TP53-independent cell death in leukemia cells while sparing normal hematopoietic stem cells. Three isoforms of GSPT1 have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. This ZooMAb^® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material.
