General description

NOTCH homolog-2 (NOTCH2) is part of the NOTCH signaling pathway and the gene encoding it is localized on chromosome 1p13-p11.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 1718-1733 of human NOTCH2. This sequence is 93% identical in mouse and rat.

Biochem/physiol Actions

NOTCH homolog-2 (NOTCH2) is a stimulator of metaplasia in goblet cells, which is seen in respiratory diseases like asthma. Mutations in the NOTCH2 gene are associated with Hajdu-Cheney syndrome.

Physical form

solution in phosphate buffered saline, containing 0.02% sodium azide.
