Acetyl coenzyme A (CoA) synthetase 1 (ACSS1) is an enzyme which is also termed as Acecs2. It is present in the mitochondria. The ACSS1 gene is located on human chromosome 20p11.21.

Anti-ACSS1 antibody has been used to estimate the acetate metabolism under metabolic stress.[1]

Acetyl coenzyme A (CoA) synthetase 1 (ACSS1) participates in the oxidation of acetate.[1] It converts acetate to acetyl-CoA in an ATP-dependent reaction. ACSS1 promotes aggressive tumor growth.
