NUDT21 (Nudix hydrolase 21) is a 25kDa subunit of the cleavage factor Im (CFIm) complex. It is a heterodimer in structure consisting of an α/β/α fold, a catalytic site called as nudix fold.

NUDT21 (Nudix hydrolase 21) plays an essential role in the regulation of pre-messenger RNA 3′-end processing phenomena. It directly interacts with RNA, poly(A) polymerase, and the nuclear poly(A)-binding protein. The catalytic nudix fold binds to the nucleotide during the polyadenylation and/or cleavage steps of pre-messenger RNA 3′-end processing.
