Opis ogólny

Tubby bipartite transcription factor (TUB) is an evolutionary conserved protein which is expressed in the hypothalamus. It is suggested to be a transcription factor and the gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 11.

Zastosowanie

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. Tubby bipartite transcription factor (TUB) has been associated with late-onset obesity in women. TUB induces the phagocytosis of macrophages and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells which are destined for apoptosis.
