We are looking for one carbon metabolites in our serum samples, SAM is one of them. In our lab, we have S-(5′-Adenosyl)-L-methionine iodide (A4377). Can this chemical be used as one of the standards for the derivatisation-based GC-MS analysis?

This product is not a standard and has not been tested for suitability for GC derivatization. Unfortunately, there is no SAM standard available in the product catalog.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.
