Opis

General description

FREY Agar is supplemented with swine serum to provide assimilable cholesterol and fatty acids, and NAD allows the growth of M. synoviae. Phenol red in the medium changes the color of the medium to yellow or purple, indicating the growth of mycoplasmas. Furthermore, penicillin inhibits the growth of accompanying bacterial flora.

Application

FREY Agar is recommended for the detection of avian mycoplasmas in pharmaceutical products, especially in bulk vaccines, cell banks, and virus cultures.
