應用

绿脓素已作为生物标志物，用以检测 铜绿假单胞菌。

生化／生理作用

绿脓菌素是一种属于吩嗪颜料的蓝绿色颜料，是氧化还原活性吩嗪。绿脓菌素是一种电子受体，可刺激细菌、肝细胞和人类上皮细胞系中的氧化还原循环。绿脓菌素增强氧化代谢，又通过减少NADPH来增加细胞内活性氧(ROS)的形成。绿脓菌素还在体外和体内增加气道上皮细胞释放IL-8。这涉及包含氧化剂、蛋白酪氨酸激酶和MAP激酶的信号途径。这些细胞的IL-8分泌与炎性细胞因子协同作用。绿脓菌素被证明在体外加速中性粒细胞凋亡，导致急性炎症的消退，这有利于细菌存活。

準備報告

为了制备水溶液，将绿脓菌素溶解在最终所需体积的10％乙醇中，然后加入蒸馏水以完成体积。
