IgM约占血清免疫球蛋白的10%。IgM在对大多数抗原的早期免疫反应中是突出的，并且在某些抗体反应（例如′天然′血型抗体）中占主导地位。IgM（含IgD）是B细胞表面表达的主要免疫球蛋白。
特异性
基于免疫电泳，该抗体可与人IgM重链的Fc5μ部分反应。不与人IgG或IgA或人免疫球蛋白的轻链反应。对非免疫球蛋白血清蛋白无反应性，但该抗体可能与其他种属的IgM发生交叉反应。
免疫原
