Application

Cytarabine USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia. Also, for use with USP monographs such as:
  • Cytarabine for Injection

Biochem/physiol Actions

Ara-C incorporates into DNA and inhibits DNA replication by forming cleavage complexes with topoisomerase I resulting in DNA fragmentation; does not inhibit RNA synthesis. Anti-leukemia agent.
