일반 설명

Pentane (n-pentane) undergoes hydroisomerization in the presence of nanocrystalline beta (BEA) zeolite.[1] It has been reported as one of the products formed from the peroxidation of unsaturated fatty acid.[2] It isomerizes to iso-pentane in the presence of ZSM-5 (Zeolite Socony Mobil-5) zeolite catalysts under hydrogen and nitrogen atmosphere.[3]
Pentane is a low boiling solvent, which finds applications in industries as a petroleum solvent and as a substitute for diethyl ether.[4]
