일반 설명

trans-2-Dodecenoyl-L-carnitine belongs to the class of medium-chain acylcarnitines.[1] Acyl-L-carnitines are mostly produced from L-carnitine, which plays an important role in fatty acid metabolic pathways. It acts as a carrier of long-chain acyl groups from activated fatty acids across the inner mitochondrial membrane into the mitochondrial matrix where they undergo β-oxidation to acetyl CoA to obtain usable energy via the citric acid cycle.
trans-2-Dodecenoyl-L-carnitine, belongs to the class of acylcarnitines. It serves as a specific diagnostic metabolite biomarker, which increases in very-long-chain acyl CoA dehydrogenase (VLCAD) deficiency, determined in biological samples.[2][3]

애플리케이션

trans-2-Dodecenoyl-L-carnitine may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in biological fluids of horses with atypical myopathy using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry.[4] It may also be used as an analytical standard to quantify the analyte in biological samples of patients with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) or automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) using high-performance liquid chromatography/tandem quadrupole mass spectrometry (HPLC-TQMS).[5]
