α-Terpinene (1-isopropyl-4-methyl-1,3-cyclohexadiene, TER) is a monoterpene found in various plant volatile oils. It is commonly employed as flavoring additive in foods and beverages, as fragrance in cosmetics, and as scent in household products.[1] It is one of the major component of the essential oil of Melaleuca alternifolia.[2]
