2-Undecanone occurs naturally in wild tomato.[1] It is also found in Ruta chalepensis essential oil and hop oil.[2] Due to its insect repellant activity, 2-undecanone is being considered as a natural non-toxic alternative to N,N-diethyl-3-methylbenzamide or DEET.[3][4][5]
