Quality Control Testing
Evaluated by Western Blotting in HepG2 cell lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected Apolipoprotein L1 (APOL1) in HepG2 cell lysate.
Tested Applications
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected His/GST-tagged recombinant Human Apolipoprotein L1 (APOL1) and APOL1 in Human kidney tissue lysates.
Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound recombinant Human Apolipoprotein L1 (APOL1) with a KD of 4.0 x 10-6 in an affinity binding assay.
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected Apolipoprotein L1 (APOL1) in Human liver tissue sections.
Note: Actual optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user as specimens, and experimental conditions may vary with the end user.

Apolipoprotein L1 (UniProt: O14791; also known as Apolipoprotein L, Apo-L, ApoL, Apolipoprotein L-I, ApoL-I) is encoded by the APOL1 (also known as APOL) gene (Gene ID: 8542) in human. APOL1 is a membrane-associated protein with multiple transmembrane domains and localizes to multiple cellular membrane environments. It is mainly synthesized in the liver with a signal peptide (aa 1-27) and released into circulation where it circulates in complex with HDL particles. It probably plays a role in lipid exchange and transport throughout the body and may participate in reverse cholesterol transport from peripheral cells to the liver. In kidney, it is expressed in podocytes and glomerular and extraglomerular vascular endothelial cells. Mutations in APOL1 gene have been linked to nondiabetic kidney disease and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS4) that is characterized by reduced glomerular filtration rate and progressive decline in renal function leading to end-stage renal disease. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.

Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
