Mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase 15 (MAPK15) or extracellular signal-regulated kinase 8 (ERK8) belongs to the MAP kinase family. MAPK15 gene is located on human chromosome 8q24.3.
免疫原
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human ERK8 around the phosphorylation site of Thr175 and Tyr177.
Immunogen Range: 141-190
生物化学的/生理学的作用
Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 8 (ERK8)/mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase 15 aids in maintaining the integrity of the genome. Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma cells show high expression of MAPK15. It controls telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) mRNA expression to regulate telomerase activity. It is highly essential to control the generation of reactive oxygen species. MAPK15 also plays a role in stabilizing proliferating cell nuclear antigen protein. MAPK15 might be involved in the progression of human cancer. Hence it might act as a candidate as an attractive target for cancer therapy.

This study was aimed at understanding the functional and clinicopathological significance of MAPK15 alteration in gastric cancer. Genome-wide copy number alterations (CNAs) were first investigated in 40 gastric cancers using Agilent aCGH-244K or aCGH-400K, and copy number gains of MAPK15

Autophagy, a pathway for bulk protein degradation and removal of damaged organelles, represents one of the major responses of cells to stress, thereby exerting a strict control on their correct functioning. Consequently, this process has been involved in the pathogenesis
