Indoleamine 2,3 dioxygenase (IDO) 1 is one of the four tryptophan catabolic enzymes in mammals. It codes for a full-length protein, made up of 403 amino acids and has a molecular weight of 45,332 Daltons. It is present in the cytosol. IDO1 is located on human chromosome 8p11.
免疫原
Peptide with sequence CVLANWKKKDPNK, from the internal region of the protein sequence according to NP_002155.1
生物化学的/生理学的作用
Indoleamine 2,3 dioxygenase (IDO) 1 plays an important role in the metabolism of tryptophan and in immune regulation. Removal of IDO1 results in attenuated contact hypersensitivity (CHS) responses.

IDO2 is implicated in tryptophan catabolism and immunity but its physiological functions are not well established. Here we report the characterization of mice genetically deficient in IDO2, which develop normally but exhibit defects in IDO-mediated T-cell regulation and inflammatory responses.
